Rules and Policies

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Philosophy Department Computer Lab is open to all University of Washington students, but priority is given to Philosophy majors and graduate students and students currently enrolled in Philosophy classes. To gain access to the lab, come to 345 to get the door code. The code will be changed every quarter.

The purchase of the equipment in the computer lab was made possible by a grant from the U.W. student technology fee. If there is a technical problem with a computer, please notify savtech@u.washington.edu immediately.

Printing is strictly limited to your coursework related to Philosophy only. No lengthy print jobs allowed.
Email savtech@u.washington.edu with an explanation of any problems you encounter with a lab computer. You must include the name of the computer that was having the problem. The name can be found on a label on the face of the computer.
Do not give out the keypunch access code to anyone. Students must sign up in the main office before being given the code.
The door must remain closed at all times. Do NOT prop it open.
Do not download or install any software programs on the computers.
Save all files to your own disks.
Games are not to be played.
Keep the room clean. No food or drink in the lab.
Do not leave personal items unattended.
Report any problems not related to the computers to the Philosophy main office, room 345.
