Department of Economics Graduate Student Lab

The Economics Lab is open to all Department of Economics Graduate Students. The lab provides a number of useful resources for graduate research and studies. Access to the lab requires that individuals have read, signed and submitted a lab-use agreement form to Michael Goldblatt. Once a form has been submitted, a user-account will be created and the door code will be provided.

Printing

At the beginning of each academic quarter, graduate students are allotted a 350-page printing quota. If students need to print more than their quota allows, they may purchase additional pages at $0.02/page. To request additional pages, as well as information regarding pricing, please contact Byron Tsang (byront@u.washington.edu). Money raised from the purchase of additional pages funds ongoing printing costs, such as toner cartridges and maintenance.

Storage

Graduate students are provided with 500MB of server storage on the departmental server (gradfs.soc.washington.edu). This storage space is backed up nightly.

Graduate students can access this storage space from any lab computer by looking in Z:\username (where username is a graduate student's login name). Graduate students will receive on-screen prompts if they are close to or exceeding their disk space quota on the server.
