It has consistently ranked among the top universities in terms of research support received through federal and other grants and contracts. Institute for Economic Research Computer Laboratory The Institute for Economic Research houses a computer laboratory providing hardware, software and internet access for economic modeling, economic estimation, word processing, and other graduate student research functions. Access to the Computer Lab is restricted to Department of Economics graduate students. The University of Washington Libraries The University of Washington Libraries are one of the premier academic library systems in the world. The Allen and Suzzallo Library is the central library for graduate student and faculty research. Graduate students in economics also make extensive use of the excellent Business Administration Library.
The Center for Social Science Computation and Research (CSSCR) The Center for Social Science Computation and Research (CSSCR) is located in the same building as the Economics Department. It has three Labs of fast workstations linked directly to the Internet. In addition to having an extensive library of computer software and data, the CSSCR offers free consulting services to aid faculty and students with computing problems.
