About the UWEAO
"We
are about fostering a community within and beyond the Department of Economics!"
The UW Economics Alumni Organization (UWEAO) was accepted as a chartered
club with the UW Alumni Association in June 2005. Our aim is to connect
alumni to the UW Economics Department and to each other; to provide meaningful
opportunities for involvement, to develop strong community awareness;
and, to facilitate the exchange of economic ideas.
The UWEAO endeavors to provide stimulating lectures of economic content for alumni, students and faculty as well as productive networking events for current students and alumni. We partner with the Economics Undergraduate Board (EUB), the Alumni Association (UWAA), and the Economics Department and its research centers in a variety of activities.
One of our most
popular events is the annual Nobel Prize in Economics Lecture,
presented jointly by the UWEAO, the Department of Economics and the UW
Alumni Association. This lecture discusses the previous year's Nobel Laureate(s)
in Economics and the implications of their work on the global community.
This year's lecture, Markets with Search Costs by Assistant Professors
Seik Kim and Oksana Leukhina, will be held on Thursday, April

The UWEAO Board provides leadership to the Economics Alumni Organization, acts as a liaison with the Department of Economics and the UW Alumni Association, and plans UWEAO events.

How Can You Get Involved?
Join the UWEAO Board! As a Board member, you will join an enthusiastic, dedicated team of alumni to play an instrumental role in the development, planning and execution of UWEAO events. If you are an alumni of the Economics department and are interested in a position on the UWEAO Board, please email indication your indication of interest with resume or CV to econalum@u.washington.edu.
